Cybersecurity Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Cybersecurity team and help support the organization’s security operations and risk management initiatives. This role will work closely with senior security engineers and architects to operate and improve enterprise security technologies, investigate security alerts, and support vulnerability remediation efforts.


This position is ideal for an early-career security professional who wants to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of cybersecurity including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and security automation. The successful candidate will demonstrate curiosity, strong problem-solving ability, and a desire to continuously learn and grow within the cybersecurity field.


*This position is based out of our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and will work on a hybrid schedule (onsite and remote).

 


Responsibilities

Security Operations

  • Monitor and investigate alerts generated by security tools such as SIEM and endpoint detection platforms.
  • Assist in the triage and investigation of potential security incidents.
  • Document findings and escalate issues when necessary.

 

Security Platform Administration

  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of enterprise security tools including SIEM, EDR, MFA, and vulnerability scanning platforms.
  • Support tuning and optimization of alerts to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.


Vulnerability Management

  • Review vulnerability scan results and assist with prioritizing remediation activities.
  • Work with IT teams to track remediation progress and verify vulnerability resolution.

 

Security Automation & Tooling

  • Assist in developing scripts or small automation tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
  • Support improvements to integrations between security tools and internal systems.

 

Documentation & Compliance Support

  • Maintain documentation for security processes and procedures.
  • Assist with security assessments, compliance efforts, and internal audits as needed.

 


Required Experience & Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or related IT roles.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts including threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive controls.
  • Experience working with or exposure to security tools such as:
  • SIEM platforms
  • Endpoint detection and response (EDR)
  • Vulnerability scanning tools
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting security operations or incident response activities.
  • Exposure to vulnerability management tools such as Tenable or Rapid7.
  • Basic understanding of cloud environments (Azure or AWS).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks or compliance requirements such as PCI or NIST.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

 

Preferred Certifications

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA CySA+
  • GIAC or other entry-level cybersecurity certifications
