HR Specialist - BFG/CIG
The HR Specialist provides comprehensive support to Human Resources initiatives for Bonefish Grill and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. This role partners with field leadership, including MVPs and JVPs, and collaborates extensively with HR centers of excellence. Key areas of responsibility include employee relations support, talent management and compensation processes, leadership development initiatives, and execution of the organization’s inclusion strategy. The position also oversees reporting and analytics, conducts data trending, assists with recruiting activities, and contributes to cross-functional operational projects.
The role requires delivering both complex and routine administrative services while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and alignment with organizational objectives. This is a hybrid position based at the Tampa Restaurant Support Center, with an expectation of three days per week onsite. Candidates must be currently located in the Tampa area, as relocation assistance is not offered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as a liaison to the Bloomin’ Brands Legal department, providing guidance on employee relations matters.
- Support organizational compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, including I-9 requirements.
- Assist with payroll actions such as terminations, transfers, promotions, hires, and leaves of absence.
HR Program Development & Execution
- Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Participate on project teams to develop creative solutions that enhance HR and operational effectiveness (e.g., policy development, HRIS implementation, process improvements).
- Coordinate the distribution of materials, timelines, and actions to ensure effective execution of HR processes.
Talent Management & Succession Planning
- Support market talent reviews and assist with follow-up on succession planning activities.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation processes for new field leaders.
Recruitment & Retention
- Assist with recruitment strategies and provide support to Field Recruiters as needed.
- Lead and support retention initiatives, including recognition programs and referral programs.
- Review and validate employee referral and sign-on bonus submissions; track and manage bonuses and coordinate timely processing with Payroll.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee referral, sign-on bonus, and general HR administrative inquiries.
Data Reporting & Analysis
- Develop reporting formats and gather, interpret, and analyze HR data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and ensure accuracy and relevance of HR reports.
Communications & Field Support
- Support development and preparation of meeting materials for field HR initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support organizational goals.
- Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources team as needed.
Additional Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS
Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of current HR experience
- Effective interpersonal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Must be knowledgeable of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Advanced computer proficiency skills in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and HRIS systems
- Ability to appropriately plan and organize, prioritize, and monitor the workflow of projects and activities
